ICG®, Drum Scanner Manufacturer re-establishes Company Name

by Anonymous

July 31, 2004 -- ICG®, the drum scanner manufacturing company, today announced the re-instatement of its globally recognised company name Itek Colour Graphics Ltd (ICG Ltd). With its original and official title restored, ICG® reinforces its status as a leading force in the image capture market.

The change heralds a strengthening of the ICG® worldwide brand which grew throughout the 1980s and 1990s with the development of ICG’s award winning vertical drum scanner range. Today ICG’s flagship product, the unique ICG® 380 drum scanner (http://www.icg.ltd.uk/products/icg-380-drum-scanner.htm), enables not only the traditional pre-press, but also the content owners and photographers to get the highest quality from their transparencies, negatives and prints with unrivalled drum scanner quality at up to 12000 dpi optical quality resolution.

ICG’s original and new personnel are especially encouraged by the continual development of the vertical scanner range which has been evident since ICG® came under new ownership and management in October 2003. “Our engineers and technical staff are working flat out to meet the growing demand for this unique scanner.”, says Andre Fletcher, Managing Director of ICG Ltd. “The 380 is an essential part of many workflows all over the world and the recognition of this continues every day as we receive sales requests from Australia, the Americas and Europe.”

Since October 2003 new firmware code has been released and a new version of ScanXact® Version 10.3 is available (http://www.icg.ltd.uk/products/scanner-software.htm).

Considerable development in refining the current 380 hardware has taken place in readiness for the launch of a new model in the near future. ICG’s Research and Development staff are working hard to once again offer ground breaking technological advances which the imaging industry have been accustomed to for so many years. The development of the new OS X version of ScanXact® is well under way and is due for release later this year.

Currently ICG’s new production facility in Bristol is producing 2-3 scanners per week with a full order book for the next 12 months. Mounting orders from Japan, China, North America and Europe signify ICG’s return as a major force in image capture innovation and excellence.
